Congratulations to Alumni Gabe Ebert, Tony Award Winner

Gabe EbertA 2005 graduate of Denver School of the Arts, Gabe Ebert won a Tony Award Sunday night. Gabriel Ebert was honored as best featured actor in a musical for “Matilda the Musical.” He plays the title character’s father, Mr. Wormwood. The Tony Awards, named for Denver-born director and actor Antoinette Perry, recognize excellence on Broadway. Denver School of the Arts is a Denver Public Schools magnet school focused on the arts. Its Theatre Department is directed by Shawn Hann and Brandon Becker. Ebert, who attended The Julliard School after DSA, last year won an Obie award for off-Broadway performance as the lead actor in Amy Herzog’s “4000 Miles.” He previously appeared on Broadway in a “Brief Encounter.”
