IN THE HEIGHTS – BACKSTAGE INFORMATION

Information for students in Grades 8-12 who are interested in helping with the Backstage aspects of In The Heights (Building the Set, Working on Run Crew/Wardrobe/Props) will be posted here by the end of the week!

IN THE HEIGHTS – CAST LIST

Congratulations again to EVERYONE who came out for In The Heights!  What an incredible joy to see so much talent and passion on display.  With over 150 of you auditioning it was difficult to whittle it down, and we hope that if you weren’t able to be a part of the show this year you will keep coming out to be a part of this fantastic tradition.  You are all wonderful and we love that you make our job hard!!

COVERS – As is our tradition, covers are expected to know all of the staging, blocking, and lines of their part and go in for their counterpart if ever that person is absent (whether in rehearsal or performance).  ALL COVERS get a COVER RUN THROUGH during the week before we open where they can invite their family to come watch them shine!

•      All Cast Members Need to Sign for Edmodo

•       Use the following code to join the In The Heights group: 5v5hx3

•      Signing into the Edomodo group confirms that you have accepted your role and there will be additional information that you need to follow!  This is the ONLY way that we communicate information about the show so PLEASE make sure you sign up!

We forgot a script portion for Benny/Nina and a NEW song that we would like the Benny/Ninas to Learn – please make sure to access the new links below:

BENNY/NINA script
BENNY/NINA song (“When the Sun Goes Down”)

A reminder that when you sing when want you to not only SING it well but also ACT it well!  Find emotional variety within the song and tell us the story of the song through your actions.  Don’t be afraid to give them staging if it feels logical.  We may give you some easy movements to do at callbacks with your song.

Also make sure you are familiar with other roles since sometimes we may have you read/sing for a role that you weren’t originally called back for.

Remember that the goal of a dance audition is to see if you are able to have fun and go for the movement.  Accuracy is awesome, but we would rather see you make it your own and show what you got!

Make sure to learn BOTH combinations – and be aware that at the end of Combination #2 you get to freestyle for 8 counts – so show us your moves!
