Recital pieces will be performed during the adjudication process with special attention paid to memorization and continuity. The adjudicators may listen to the complete work, but will probably audition only portions of the work, especially if students have consistently performed their pieces sucessfully in the piano class.

Both High School and Middle School students should be prepared to perform scales in the keys of the pieces they play and in the major or minor scales relative to that key. In other words, if the recital piece is in E-Major, students should be prepared to play the E-Major scale and the three forms of the c#-minor scale. High School students and 7th and 8th Graders will be required to perform all scales four octaves  Sixth Graders should perform all scales two octaves, but may perform scales four octaves if they choose to.  Juniors and Seniors may choose to and are encouraged to perform arpeggios in lieu of scales.

Please familiarize yourself with the adjudication sheet that will be used in your jury.
