Majors:
Young Artists (Mr. Robert Styron, Director)
This MS choir is comprised of 20 sixth graders. Students will receive
an intense training in vocal technique, music fundamentals, and choral
repertoire. The choir will sing music in the intermediate level.

Treble Choir (Mr. Scott Shively, Director) One of our middle school choirs, consisting of 32
singers in the seventh and eighth grades. This choir is
considered the upper-level training choir for the High School Vocal
Music program. Repertoire is selected from an intermediate to
advanced level. Students also receive traning in music theory and ear
training.

* Bellissima
(Mr. Robert Styron, Director) Our premiere women’s choir known as
Bellissima (Italian word meaning “very beautiful”) is comprised of 1st
and 2nd year High School women. There are approximately 28 singers,
grades nine through eleven who perform advanced SSA and SSAA choral
music.

* Chorale
(Mr. Scott Shively, Director) This mixed ensemble consists of 42
singers and is comprised of girls in grades eleven and twelve, and boys
(with changed voices) in grades eight through twelve. The choir sings
advanced SATB choral repertoire at the collegiate level.

Electives:
4Squared (Mr. Scott Shively, Director)
Although a HS minor elective, this 16 voice chamber choir performs a
demanding eclectic repertoire. They frequently perform at conventions,
schools, special events and festivals throughout the Metro Denver area.
This group is open by audition only to all high school students at DSA.

Vocal Jazz Ensemble (Mr. Robert Styron, Director)
As part of our department expansion this year, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble
focuses on both solo and ensemble singing including vocal
improvisation, lead-sheet reading and transposition. This group will
perform at Jazz Café, off-campus gigs, jazz festivals, and will utilize
a rhythm section. This group is open by audition only to DSA high
school students.
