Darwin, who is he? What did he do? This is a question that many have been wondering lately for many student scientists have been hearing his name all around. Charles Darwin is the name. He was a famous British Naturalist during the spand of 1809-1882, his life. Born in Shrewbury, England, Darwin had been a naturalist abord the HMS Beagle while on a British Science expidition. Darwin had become curious with all of the diffrent fossils that he had found in Africa, because they matched fossils in England. All over the world fossils were turing up looking the same. As more and more reasearch that Darwin put into answering the question of qhy this is the way it is, he began to write a book. "The Theory of Evolution" was the name, and not once did it pose the world of evolution in it. His next book, "Evolution By Natural Selection" was presented with a twist in science history. Darwin was not the first scientist to pose the idea of evolution , Wallace another scientist was, though Darwin had never seen Wallaces work throught out the 20 years of his research. In the end, Darwin gets create for inventing elvolution, but Wallce thought that he had deserved the credit.

n this week's article, we'll take a closer look at Charles Darwin...sure we all know that name, but who exactly was Charles darwin? Where did he study? What did he discover and how did he discover it? When and how did he make these accomplishments? FIND OUT HERE!

Charles Darwin was an English naturalist who travelled thousands of miles finding evidence to support his theory of evolution.

Darwin was raised in a prosperous family. His father, Robert Darwin was a doctor. Darwin was attented the Shrewsbury School and Edinburgh University where he studied medicine. He did not finish studying at Edinburgh, and ended up at Cambridge University to study theology. While he was at Edinburgh he became interested in natural history, which he continued to learn about during his time at Cambridge. [and for the rest of his life.] In 1831 he set out on a ship called the Beagle and did not return home for 5 years, in 1836.

Darwin was not the first person to discover evolution, however he did create the theory of natural selection and published his findings in a book called The Origin of the Species by Natural Selection.

Darwin created his theory about natural selection by studying/realizing that animals in the Galapagos Islands were slightly different from animals he had seen in South America. This intrigued him and he went on to study these animals, making all kinds of incredible observations that lead him to his theory, which eventually, changed the world.

3. Charles Darwin: Father of evolution

Charles Darwin, as we know him, the author of the theory of evolution. He was born in 1809, and died in 1882. Mr. Darwin's interest was biology, or as they called it back then, Natural Science. After studying at the University of Cambridge, his interest for geography and zoology grew. And soon, in 1831 he joined the exploration of the HMS beagle. A research ship working off the coast of South America. He spent most of his time on shore of the various islands and pieces of land. (Mainly the Galapagos). He was immensely interested in the various organisms he found there, and studied and collected them. Once he got back Darwin started on a piece of work he titled “On the origin of species”. A collected group of inferences, observations, hypotheses and theories on what he had studied during his time on the HMS. Some of it included his theory that all organisms on earth are related through the descent with modification (related from an unknown ancestral type that lived long ago). After some time, he published this and it still stands today to be one of the largest contributing factors to the theory of evolution. This published piece of work is widely known and accepted to the scientific community because of the substantial evidence he provided.

4. Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was a wonderful scientist that came up with theory of evolution. Darwin worked with Russell Wallace to help him come up with the theory. Wallace also thought of the theory of evolution but ended up giving all his information to Darwin. Darwin got the credit because he did the most research. The thing that got Darwin started on his theory was the HMS beagle. He traveled with the HMS beagle and was a naturalist. As he went to all the different islands, he noticed that all the animals and specimens were alike but all had there own uniqueness. He also noticed that certain species had certain traits depending on what environment they lived in. Darwin did his research in the Galapagos islands. He did his research by taking specimens and finding out about traits they have and compared them to other specimens. He did this because he was interested on the animals. It was more for his own good then it was for other people. Darwin was born in England on the 12th of February 1809. He died 19th April 1882 in England at age 73.

Charles Darwin, an English naturalist was born Feburary 12 1809, his father Robert Darwin was technology and medacine scientist and he always wanted Charles to do the same. Yet for many years of his life he was compeled by natural history. Charles attended Camebridge University, and during his time there his mentor was the well known John Henslow. Darwin wanted to expand on his theories about evolution, and how different animals adapt to their surroundings, so he went to the galopigos islands. He found that his theories were correct and that the animals had formed natural defenses against their surroundings, and that the animals that were the strongest survived. Unfortunatly Darwin died in the year of 1882, his findings helped sciences in all parts of the world.

6. Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was born in the year 1809 in England. During his early years he studied medicine and theology, although his real interests involved natural history, which he studied with his mentor Reverend John Henslow, who was a famous Botanist. When he was 22 he joined the HMS Beagle to study organisms of the world, this voyage last 5 years. During this time he carefully recorded his observations, and when his voyage was through, he spent the next 20 years reviewing this information. Within this twenty years he came up with the theory of evolution, which he quickly wrote a book on after receiving a letter from a scientist from Scotland, he read his paper which brought him to act quicker on writing his book, because no other scientists had written anything but papers on their theories. Charles Darwin died in 1882 and during his lifetime he became known as the main author of theory of evolution. Darwin is important for his studies in his theory of evolution which was a species will play a role such as survival of the fittest which is that the stronger and better adapted ones will survive and pass on their traits, while the others die off. Charles came to his conclusions by carefully studying his notes and observations throughout his voyage on the HMS Beagle, and then noticing the differences between all of the species. Over all, Charles Darwin was one of the most important men when it came to the theory of evolution and because of his work and studies has been known as the father of the theory of evolution.

7. DARWIN: How his theory changed how we think today

Charles Darwin, born February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, Shopshire, England, was a remarkable man who is famous for his theory of evolution, writtin in his famous book, "On the Origin of Species", published in 1859. He went to the University of Edinburh, but dropped out and went to the University of Cambridge. This is where he met John Henslow, a naturalist who taught Darwin to observe and study everything. Henslow took Darwin aboard the HMS Beagle, a ship that traveled across South America. Darwin noticed similarities in species across the continent and began to form his theory that animals evolve from a common ancestor to accomodate their needs. His theory is acceepted by almost everyone today, and was a huge influence on how we think.

8. NO TITLE

Do you know who Charles Darwin is and what he did? Many people don't know who this man is or what he did, even though he is very important to the scientilfic world. Charles Darwin is a naturalist. He was born in 1809, and he first began to study medicine to please his father. But later became a natural biologist. His work began in 1831 when he got aboard a ship which took him around the world. From traveling to so many places around the world he was able to study many organisms and species. It took him nearly 20 years to complet his theory before publishing his first book. He was the first to publish a book on the theory of evolution and how things change overtime. This is why he is so important.

9. NO TITLE

Charles Darwin was a british naturalist born in Shrewsbury, England in 1809. He accepted an invitation to participate on a voyage to South America in 1835. He traveled with George Peacock, Reverend Henslow, Captain Robert FitzRoy. When traveling through the Gallapogos Islands, he collected samples of plants and animals. After studying these samples much, he came to the conclusion of evolution.

10. NO TITLE

Charles Darwin was born on february 12th, in Shrewsbury, England. He attended the University of Edinburg, and Cambridge, where he studied naturalization. John Henslow helped to inspire him and studied with him. In 1831, Darwin set out on a 5 year naval journey, researching marine life around the world. He conducted his research by taking notes, and collecting sample specimens to examen. After stunning fellow researchers with his information, he began to write his theories in a book. This book, 'On the Origin of Species, or the Preservation of Races in the Struggle for Life,' was published in 1859. This led to a few other books in the course of Darwins life. He died on April 19th, 1882.

Charles Darwin was a world renound scientist after the publication of his firts book "On the Origin of Species" Charles wrote this book after he had traveled around the world taking notes on everything he saw in the diferent inviroments. It was little hard for Charles to just jump right in to his intrest in biology due to the fact that Charles father had him inrolled at Cambridge University to study Medicine. charles and Alfred Russel Wallace were investigating some of the same consepts like evolution with modification now known as evolution. Darwin has allowed scientist a new way of thinking due to his theory and ideas of evolution. Now the thing scientis are questioning how humans came to be? with darwins new theory scientist have a new widow to look at the world through.

Dear people I'll have to say that Charles darwin was a liarbut if I turn this in to my boss he will give me a rease .

O.K . I think that Carles Darwin choose the Galapagos islands so that anibody will catch him in the act of not telling yhe truth and that's about it.

13. NO TITLE

Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809, in Shrewsbury, England. He died in 1882. The reason why he found it so interesting was because he believed in life on earth developing gradually over millions of years from a few common ancestors. Charles served as naturalist aboard the H.M.S. Beagle science expedition around the word from 1831 until 1836 Darwin would spend a lot of his time at the shore, collecting thousands of specimens and recording observations and interesting exotic. His main mentor was John Henslow.

14. THE EVERYDAY NEWS October 27,2004 A BLAST FROM THE PAST

Charles Darwin was a BritishNaturalist who came up withthe theory on Evolution and NaturalSelection. Darwin went to Cambridge College and studied natural History. Afterwards, he fot to go on to the H.M.S Beagle which was a research ship on science. On his journey he gathered different type of species which he took home and did research on and made observations. Also, this is why he was lead to the Galapagos Islands, because the Galapagos Islands was part of the expedition that H.M.SBeagle was going. From there much more work,he came up with a theory on evolutionand natural selection. This of course, made a tremendous impact on the religious thought because his theory made religion sound like it was a big fake! In conclusion, this is a brief article on Darwin, the man with who came up with the amazing theory on evolution and natural selection.

16. Charles Darwin Remembrance

Charles Darwin was a British naturalist back in the 1800's He was born in Shrewsbury, England in 1809. Charles was A man that did a lot of research to prove his ideas the main being the theory of evolution. In 1831 he was sent aboard HMS Beagle to start his exploration to find specimens that would help his studies the mission of the beagle was to chart areas of south America . although this was the main objective there were several other stops along the way including western Europe Madagascar the Indian islands and new Zealand after his trip he returned to England where he would spend the next 20 years writing “On the Origin of Species.” Later he would spend another vast amount of time writing “Evolution by Natural Purpose.” Today there are universities named after Darwin for study in South America. He past April 19th of 1882.

17. NO TITLE

Charles darwin was a british naturalist, born in 1809, who became famous for his theories on evolution and natural selection. He went on expiditions to the Galapagos Islands and all around the world and found varieties of species that led to the results of his theories such as; there was evolution.

18. Charles Darwin

Charles Darwin was born in 1809. He studied natural history (biology), and became one of the founding scientists on the theory of evolution. Darwin traveled upon the HMS Beagle, a scientific research ship to chart the coast of South America. The voyage took them to Africa, South America (and the numerous islands off the coast i.e. the Galapagos), and Australia where he came across his multiple theories and ideas of evolution just after Christmas of 1831. He published his multiple findings on evolution such as On the Origin of Species (1839) and his essay, Evolution by Natural Selection. Why his findings are so important was because it had changed the way modern scientists understand life, growth and development, and anything that has to do with modern biology.
