The Twentieth Century was marked with social upheaval, several major wars, and
implementation of radical political and economic
ideologies. These historical elements profoundly affected
composer's lives and their music.
Choose two or three important historical elements from the Twentieth Century and
discuss how they affected the lives and music of composers. Use
standard term paper conventions, including footnotes and bibliography. The paper should be about 1000
words in length. Use at least three sources. Source material may include class notes and internet sources, but must include at least two book sources.
