The Etude and other teaching pieces.
The HS piano class will be discussing various musical forms this year. Students are requested to perform for the class when possible. We will discuss the biographical information about the composers, discuss information about style periods represented, and will discuss the forms of the various pieces that we are studying.
Students can plan on 45 mintues of direct teaching on Monday through Thursday. Friday will be a day devoted to student presentations and discussion. There will be a short essay quiz after each unit, except that the Czerny and Mozart units will be combined.
