started to date them (brilliant idea) and here they are, in the order

Holly Pritchett Walther, VA, 2000, graduated as a cosmetologist in 2004, spent three months in London, summer 2005, to attend Glauca Rossi School of Fashion and Photographic Make Up and was there, but not hurt in the July 7 terrorist attack on the tube that year. She moved to LA, married a tattoo artist, worked for the Dino Clark Salon in Santa Monica, had a baby girl, Lydia Darling, in October, 2007 and is now working at a new spa in Golden, Spalon Inc. Lisa Schiller, 2000, Instrumental Music, spent a year and a half at music school in Philadelphia, then decided on an academic program, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in Astronomy and Anthropology from CU-Boulder. After doing some soul-searching, Lisa started working as a veterinary assistant at a local private practice. She received early acceptance to Colorado State University's combined MBA/DVM program, which she will start in the fall of 2008. Eventually, she hopes to own her own private small animal practice, and will offer a great discount to DSA alums. (4/08)
Marie Mulqueen was at DSA 2000-2002, Stagecraft, but due to health issues finished high school from home. She says DSA is the best school she ever attended. she's now a Metro State student in business and wants to open a bakery, her long-time dream. Braden Marks, Theatre, 2002, went on to study Spanish Literature and Theatre at Bard College. After completing the staged reading of his translation of José Sanchis Sinisterra's Ay, Carmela, he graduated in 2006 and moved to New York City. Tiffany Alves, Vocal Music, 2000, went to college for a short stint, then gave that up to begin a career in tissue banking: that's right, "tissue" banking. She currently works for the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation in Colorado as a Triage Supervisor over a team of 57 triage coordinators who screen and process organ, tissue and eye donation across the U.S. and Canada, a rewarding and life changing/giving profession. Ernest Gonzales, IM, 2002, attended the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and is now a golf professional at the Ritz Carlton of Amelia Island, Florida. Chad Dunning, Theater, 2003 - 2004, wasn't at DSA very long, but considers that it was an important time and he made good friends from the experience. Greg Stanwood, Video/Cinematography, 2006, is at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, majoring in critical studies. Megan Hartmann, Instrumental
Music, 1998, was one of the original DSA music students, earned a B.A.
in environmental studies from Lawrence University, Wisconsin, 2002. For
the next several years she worked in environmental science/natural
resources fields in Maryland, Colorado and California. In 2004-2005 she
volunteered with AmeriCorps Cape Cod's natural resource managment and
disaster preparedness projects, one of her most rewarding experiences.
She now lives in Moscow, Idaho, where she's completed one year of a
master's in environmental science, but plans to take off to
"destination unknown" and explore other career opportunities soon.

Matravius Avent and Stacy (Gates) Avent were married in June 2007, eight years after meeting at DSA. Groomsmen were members of LOGIC, DSA's first a capella group. Stacy, Vocal, 2002, received a degree in Forensic Anthropology from University of Wyoming in 2006. Matravius,
Vocal, 2000, received a degree in Voice Performance from Denver
University in 2006. Matravius has performed with Opera Colorado,

Payton Wynne,
was a piano major from the year DSA opened at Cole through sophomore
year, graduated elsewhere in 1998, earned a Sociology degree at Bowie
State University, where he directed the Gospel Choir and won national
collegiate gospel choir competitions twice. He is currently the
musician for a large church in Washington, D.C. and the Area
Reservation Manager for Ritz-Carlton Hotels. He is married, just bought

Music, 1998, is living in Melrose, MA. She graduated from CSU in May

Lydia Bittner-Baird, Dance, 2005, performed the lead role of the ballerina in Juilliard's Spring Dance concert presentation of Twyla Tharpe's Deuce Coupe. African-American woman to
represent the Lone Star State in the Miss America Pageant, where, in

Outstanding Vocalist" award. She has been accepted to the University of

Theater, is a member of the four-person cast of Glory Days, set to open on Broadway May 6, 2008. Jesse was in the original production of Glory Days at the Signature Theatre of Virgina. His first tour the year
after graduation from DSA was "Grease." His second tour was the last Broadway
touring year of "Oklahoma" as a principle dancer. His third was
the show "Altar Boyz," a musical about a Catholic boy band, in
which he played the part of Luke, the homeboy straight out of rehab, and

Bardwell, Morgan Matter, Mackenzie Liman, Creative Writing, 2001, had a
cover story in Westword in July, 2006, about their Derailer Bicycle
Collective, which builds, gives away and fixes bikes for free, and a
run-in they've had with zoning over it. These three and friends have
been up to lots of activist good works, including Food Not Bombs, which
prepares vegan meals for the homeless, and their activities have even
prompted a visit by the FBI, but, not because of the free bikes. The
cover photo is a Russian revolutionary art pose of proud workers
holding tools and bike parts, gazing off into the future. It's grand.

Michael Williams, Instrumental, 2005, attended CU
Boulder 05-06 and studied with Dr. Alexa Still for her final year at
CU. He was part of the selection committee for the new flute professor
and held the principal flute position of the Denver Young Artists
Orchestra. In Fall, 2006, Michael will start as a sophomore at the San
Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying with San Francisco Symphony's

Alexander Reshetniak, 1999,
Stagecraft and Design, is currently a designer and electrician at the
Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom in the DCPA. Most recently he was the
Production Stage Manager for "Menopause the Musical" in Milwaukee. He
was also the PSM for "Menopause" in Denver for 20 months and 576
performances, and was Assistant Stage Manager for Colorado's longest
running musical, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!" which
clocked in at four and a half years and 1731 performances. Check out

Cheryl
Lynn (Rhoades) Gerton, Creative Writing, 1996, graduated from UNC, 2000
with a BA in English. She's been working for the Colorado Dept. of
Public Health and Environment's Consumer Protection Division, designs
brochures, training materials, manages the web content and proofreads
all outgong documents. She continues to write poetry and short fiction,
but her three-year-old son Chase is "a handful of a hobby" and her
boyfriend requires some of her time too.
Cheryl reports that Karen Dowling and Olivia Sprauve, creative writing

Sarah
Flanagan, 2000, Theatre, received her BFA in acting from Brooklyn
College in 2004, then studied at the London Academy of Music and
Dramatic Art. She's now in New York, and is the managing director of
brave new world repertory theatre. www.bravenewworldrep.org She is also
assistant director of the 2006 salon series and performs in an improv
troupe, the nat turner revue, which performed in the Maytime

Heiser, 1999, Stagecraft and Design, went to University of Cincinnati
for three years to study stagecraft & design. She moved to Arizona
to be near her family. Four years later, when her father died, she
returned to Colorado to take care of legal matters surrounding his

Denver Chamber of Commerce to facilitate creation of an alumni

Miranda, Instrumental Music 2002, received permanent resident status in
2005 and joined the Marines. In January, 2006, he was sent to
Afghanistan. (Google Camp Blessing for more info.) "I have had an IED
explode two HMMWVs ahead of me, killing my good friend LCPL Billy
Brixey, had my base mortared seven times, been ambushed by RPGs...Do
you know how RPGs look when they explode? It's kinda like a banana
peeling out everywhere, but instead of peels, you get big lawnmower
blades chopping to pieces everything around them." Xavier will have
leave soon and plans to visit Denver. He also writes about the
humanitarian efforts his 3rd Marine Regiment is making: providing
medical services, building schools, hospitals, roads and bridges. For

Landon Wade, vocal, 1999,
finished classes in 2005 and will be getting his degree in the Spring,
2006 from Berklee College of Music, Boston, in Songwriting and Voice
Performance. If you knew him, this academic procrastination comes as no
surprise. Landon's currently teaching lessons in voice, songwriting and
comtemporary arranging, working at Best Buy to save for a move to L.A.
to pursue a career as a recording artist. In the meantime, he's

Armstrong, instrumental music, 2000, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a
major in biology, 2004, did a road trip across the U.S., then worked
for a year in a molecular neuroscience lab in Pittsburg. She is now at
California at Irvine, in the first year of "what boils down to infinite
school in the form of an MD/PhD program. "This year, we will all be
making a trek to Arnold's office to lobby for a universal heath care
bill, and I'm working at free clinics, starting an a cappella group,
trying to learn Spanish, and hanging out with kids with chronic
illnesses."
Nuriel Heckler, 1998, received a philosophy/French
degree from the City College of New York and is currently a Law student
at the University of Denver. He continues to write short fiction and

never got more than a month into the semester. I work at the American
Friends Service Committee, a non-profit, and am the Co-Director of the
Youth and Demilitarization Program there, but I feel like the important
things about my life are what I do in my spare time. I live in a house
with a bunch of awesome friends and we run Food Not Bombs, a bi-weekly
free picnic for the hungry and Derailer Bicycle Collective, a free
community bike shop." Amongst other things, Sarah spends her time
trying to develop sustainable community, and resisting gentrification,

Katrina
Rewerts, 2000,
graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Denver
with double degrees in Environmental Science and Ecology, Evolution,
& Conservation Biology. Katrina received her teaching license in
2006 and married J.R. Marzetta, an American Eagle pilot in August,
2006. She began teaching 8th grade science at DSA this fall, 2007 and

Nick Wightman attended DSA
1996-1998 as a visual arts major and creative writing minor. His time
here "was truly life-changing and precious." He lives in Oakland, CA
and is studying Expressive Arts Therapy at the California Institute of
Integral Studies in San Francisco. The approach uses visual art, drama,
movement and music as therapeutic tools for healing. Nick is having a
second solo art show in San Francisco and teaches "martial arts to kids
who are helping me become more of a kid myself."
Brian Sump, 1999,
studied Civil Engineering for four years at School of Mines, signed
with the San Diego Chargers in May, 2003 and was released prior to the
season. He then signed with the L.A. Avengers (Arena Football League)
and played the 2004 season, signed with the St. Louis Rams in June 2004
and was released. Brian went back to L.A. in December 2004 to play
another season.
Kendra Goldstein, theatre, 2000, graduated
from the University of Delaware in 2004 with degrees in Psychology and
Criminal Justice and a minor in Italian. She is currently living in
Denver and is a first year law student at DU. Between Delaware and
Denver, Kendra moved to Australia and traveled throughout New Zealand,
Fiji, Thailand and Vietnam. After returning, she backpacked through
Europe with Maya Wright. She recently became engaged to her high school

Maya Wright, 2000, graduated in May
2004 from Earlham College with a B.A. in Art History. For her senior
project, she researched, curated and hung a historical exhibit in the
Wayne County Historical Museum, Indiana. She also cut 17 inches of hair
off and donated it to Locks of Love this spring. Maya is back in
Colorado for now, hopes to go into museum education and will likely go
to grad school to that end soon.
Brett Macias, 1999, is a
graduate of Webster University in Musical Theatre Performance and has
appeared in many productions in St. Louis and Denver. He recently
directed his first New York production and is getting his Master's in
Musical Theatre Writing at NYU.
Amina Rausch, 1999, is in her
last year at the University of Denver with a double major in Chemistry
and Sociology and a minor in Leadership. She's currently working for
Newlon Elementary to pay for school. After graduation, Amina plans on
graduate school, perhaps medical school. Her other passion is a youth

Michelle Martinez attended
DSA 1991-1996, is currently an Americorps VISTA volunteer, where she is
the volunteer coordinator for Girls, Inc., and is an anthropology major
at Metro State College.
Chris Bock, 1997, has worked in eight
national tours, including productions of South Pacific, Sound of Music
and Annie Get Your Gun. He starred in the Off Broadway musical "Ernest"
and is the son of Jenny Bock, who was DSA's first secretary.
Liz
Bootz, 2001, is living in Oakland and graduated in 2005 from Mills
College. She wrote her thesis on dance and community, choreographed her
senior project in April and is "dancing a ton." Liz is interested in
starting alumni efforts to support DSA and DSA students and in sharing
more information among alumni. To discuss, contact her at

Lindsay North, 2000, graduated in spring, 2005
from Metro State with a degree in Behavioral Science and plans to move
to New York to pursue work in the arts. She is excited to be finally
graduating and moving into the next step of life.
Duncan
Barry, 1999, is the newest and youngest faculty member (Lecturer,
History) at University of Maryland, College Park, has bought a home in
D.C. and got married in March, 2005. (4/05)
Shilah Phillips,
Vocal and Theater, 2001, is the 2006 Miss Texas. She's now on a
year-long speaking tour and is the first African-American woman to
represent the Lone Star State in the Miss America Pageant. She studied
jazz at Howard University and while there received the "Most
Outstanding Vocalist" award. She has been accepted to the University of
North Texas' jazz studies/voice program. (10/06)

Vocal, 2005 is gigging around Colorado with Wesley Watkins' jazz band
and will attend Berklee College of Music in Boston in the Spring, 2007,

Jesse Johnson, 2004,
Theater, is on his 3rd Broadway national tour. His first tour the year
after graduation was "Grease." His second tour was the last Broadway
touring year of "Oklahoma" as a principle dancer. He is currently in
the show "Altar Boyz," a new musical about a Catholic boy band, in
which he plays the part of Luke, the homeboy straight out of rehab, and
he is also Dance captain for the tour. For more info, visit
