Dear Parents and Students,
This year I have nearly 200 students in writing intensive
classes. Please know, however, that even though I have such
a great number of students, it is still important to me that I provide
constructive feedback for all students on assignments for my
courses. Consequently, some writing assignments may take me as
long as 40 hours to grade. This, of course, is in addition to
planning curriculum and all of my typical teaching duties. So, I
would like to kindly request a little patience in having graded
assignments returned. I will try my best to never extend past a
two week grading period; however, unforeseen circumstances may prolong
the grading process.
Below I've listed other factors to consider in terms of grades and the parent portal:
*Grades cannot be entered into the parent portal until all papers have
been graded for a given course, so keep in mind that posting won't
occur until 2 or more weeks after the due date.
*Due to school activities, field trips, student illness, art
activities and other unforeseen delays, I may postpone the due date on
an assignment. In these cases, due dates posted online may not be accurate.
