Mariachi de las Artes has a new look. This summer our performing group acquired new costumes (traje).Our members have beautiful navy blue with wine colored grecca and ties. They are beautiful costumes. Mariachi members performed all year and bought the new costumes with donations. We also are the recipients of a DPS Arts Funding $5,000 grant for two salaried teachers. Mariachi de las Artes is a student musical group playing traditional Mexican Mariachi Sons (songs) in Spanish. We are currently looking for DSA students who play an instrument of the Mariachi (violin, trumpet, guitar, vihuela, guitarron and harp or who can sing in Spanish. Mariachi de las Artes meets every Tuesday and Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:30. You must be availabe to perform evenings and weekends for parties, events, weddings, etc. Please see Ms. Ulibarri in the library if interested in auditioning.
