Second Quarter Syllabus, 2006-07

High School Students will be discussing the following during Second Quarter:

A brief history of the Baroque Concerto Grosso form
Bach: Brandenburg Concertos
Bach: Italian Concerto

The evolution of the Classical Concerto form
Mozart: Concerto No. 19 in F Major
Beethoven: Concerto No. 3 in c minor

Romantic Concerto forms
Brahms: Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major
Liszt: Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major

The class will study a brief biography of Brahms in addition to discussing the music listed above.
