Promptness and regular attendance are important elements of the educational experience at DSA.  A percentage of time in the piano room is spent in guided practice, but a substantial portion consists of direct teaching, discussion, student presentation, and listening.  It is imperative that students show respect to their teachers and their classmates by demonstrating the self-discipline that is required to arrive to class on time with necessary materials, rested and ready to learn.

The student can earn 50 points of classroom credit through prompt attendance.  These 50 points reflect approximately 10% of the student's grade.  There will be a reduction of 5 points for each unexcused tardy or absence.
