2007 Guest Artists working with the advanced class:
Hannah Kahn directs the Denver-based Hannah Kahn Dance Company. Ms. Kahn holds a BFA from the Juilliard School and has danced and toured with several dance companies in New York. She founded the Hannah Kahn Dance Company in New York, and directed it there for twelve years before moving to Colorado in 1988. Ms. Kahn has choreographed over 100 works over the last 35 years. She has set work on many repertory companies including Concert Dance Company of Boston, Maryland Dance Theatre and Zenon Dance Company of Minneapolis. In Colorado, her work has been performed by the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Dance Connection, David Taylor Dance Theater, Haan Dance, the Jan Justis Dance Company, Kim Robards Dance and the Story Gleaner.
Melissa McCorkle graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA. She has danced with Singapore Dance Ensemble, Pearl Lang Dance Theatre, and the Martha Graham Dance Company. She is thrilled to be in Denver teaching and performing as well as working with such beautiful dancers at DSA.
Scott Putman is an Associate Professor in dance and choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is the founder and Artistic Director of Amaranth Contemporary Dance as well as the creator of the Elemental Body Alignment System. He is also a resident choreographer of Pasadena Dance Theater and continues to be a faculty member of California State Summer School of the Arts. His work is continually being seen nationally and internationally at dance festivals, choreography showcases as well as through commissions by both ballet and modern companies. Scott's acclaimed choreography has received several awards and was awarded the 2005 National Choreography Plan Award for exceptional choreography from RDA, Pacific. He has danced for Mordine and Company Dance Theatre, Dimitrius Klein Dance Company, Minnesota Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Chicago, Donald McKayle, David Alan, Douglas Becker, and Geri Houlihan. Scott Received his B.A. from Columbia College, Chicago, and M.F.A. from the University of California at Irvine, where he was a chancellors fellow and William Gillespie Scholar.
