Dear Parents,
We have had to reschedule the community meeting that was
set for this Wednesday night due to conflicts. So we are rescheduled for Monday
January 28, 2008 in the Shomp Theatre from 6:30 to 8:30.pm
This will be
an exciting meeting as we are going to cover adolescent mental health issues.
We hope all parents can attend to learn more about adolescent mental health,
meet DSA’s support services providers, and connect with resources in the
community. Your participation on the 28th will demonstrate that DSA values
dialogue and assertiveness regarding our students’ mental
health.
Speakers will discuss depression and suicidal ideology, eating
disorders, drug and alcohol use and stress management. After the presentations,
parents will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from Judy’s House
(grief support), Rainbow Alley (sexual identity/orientation support services)
Outward Bound, Denver Safehouse (date violence and domestic violence) Project
Pave (date violence and bullying) and Girls Inc.
