Monday - Student Planetary Council presentations are due. They will be presenting in class.
Tuesday - Benchmark testing. Class will be short. Continue with Presentations.
Thursday - Pass out the Study Guide for the Final. Pass out the Astronomy Final project.

Monday - This was a stripe day.
Tuesday - Homework was due. We discussed the universe, galaxies, stars, solar systems.
Thursday - Investigation #4. Size of the planets, and location of the planets in our solar system. Quiz next Thursday.
March 31- April 4
Monday - Students completed Investigation #2 Lab for Astronomy.
Tuesday - Students read Investigation #2 and we took notes about the moon.
Homework: Page #14 #1-6
Thursday: We will do Investigation #3. It focuses on the relationship between the earth and the moon. It also focuses on gravity.
Homework: Read "Digging Deeper" pages 22-24 and answer questions 1-4 & 7-8 from page 25.
March 17-21
Tuesday - Students will begin Astronomy.
Thursday - Students work on String Theory.
February 25 - 29
Monday - Students received their final project assignments for Dynamic Planet. This is due on Tuesday March 4.
Homework: Complete a Project Update to let me know that you are staying on top of your project. This assignment will tell me where you are in the project.
Tuesday - We are working in the computer labs.
Homework: Second Project Update to make sure that you are staying on top of your project.
Thursday - Final school day to work on the project!

Thursday - students took a quiz.
February 11 - 15
Monday - Students worked in class on a mapping project about Earthquakes and Volcanoes. If they did not finish it is homework.
The students need to: 1) On the back of the map, answer #2a-2d pg. 42 2) On the world map, answer 3a-3b pg.43 3) On the world map, answer 4a-4b pg. 43 4) On the back of the sheet, answer 5a-5d pg. 44 5) On the world map answer 6a-6b. pg 44-45 6) On the back of the sheet answer 7a-7c. pg 45.

Tuesday: A little switch from the norm. We went to the concert
hall to do a sound wave lab. The students saw different frequencies of
waves, and how they can change.
Thursday: We will complete the Plate tectonic lab with a lecture and notes.

January 28 - February 1
Monday - Students completed and turned in the convection cell lab.
Tuesday - We read the Activity 3 Digging Deeper and took notes about convection, lithosphere, and the asthenosphere.
Homework: Complete "As You Read" page 25 #1-5.
Thursday - We are going to complete Activity 4, "The Movement of the Earth's Lithospheric Plates"
January 22-25
Tuesday - Students completed Activity 2 with a lecture and notes about waves. They received their study guide for the quiz on Thursday.

Thursday - Quiz today. Upon completing the quiz, we will begin Activity 3 "Forces that Cause Earth Movements."

January 14-18
Tuesday - Introduced Investigation 2. Students discussed "What is Inside the Earth?" Completed the first have of the wave lab. The wave labs objective is to introduce students to waves, and how to measure the speed of waves.
Thursday - Complete the second half of the wave lab. In class, we will read as a class the "Digging Deeper". Students will then complete Review and Reflect questions #1 - 6. The following class period we will start with a lecture to complete Investigation 2 and then we will move onto Investigation 3.
No homework.

This week we worked on models from the new book Our Dynamic Planet.
