  • Welcome and Introductions
  • CSC BYLAWS — Purpose and Scope of the Collaborative School Committee:
  • State law requires CSC participation from parents, teachers, administration.  We want to emphasize students.  We want each meeting to start with students’ voice.
  • We want to work on the UIP (see below), especially from a student lens
  • This is an advisory body, not a decision-making body.  CSC is not involved in student discipline, or day-to-day operations of the school.
  • By-laws last revised in 2013.  May need revision.
  • How to post CSC minutes publicly.  We can post minutes on CSC website.
  • We decided by consensus to review the by-laws on our own time in the next 30 days, and send our notes to Dr. Cesarini.  Dr. Cesarini will collate our comments, and the CSC will review them in a time-limited way in the next meeting.
  • Presentation of the draft School Improvement Plan (UIP)
  • Academics have been a strength, but there is need for improvement for students of color.
  • Foci for this year: (1) Social-emotional, (2) collaboration, and (3) supports in classrooms for students that are struggling academically.
  • Extra emphasis on Black Excellence, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
  • What is CSC’s role in relation to the UIP?
    • Providing feedback
    • Dr. McWright: speaking up for the greater good
    • These are public meetings.  The more students attend, the better.
  • Final Considerations and Next Steps
  • We will aim to consider by-laws together in October and the UIP in November
  • We will consider how to increase parent participation
