Artistic/Co-Director

Terrell Davis is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Davis Contemporary Dance Company and CEO of the Terrell Davis Academy of Dance. He is also the Artistic Co‑Director for Denver School of the Arts’ Classical and Contemporary Pre‑Professional Dance Program. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Dance from Western Illinois University. He began his professional career with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. His journey then brought him to Denver, where he danced with the Cleo Parker‑Robinson Dance Ensemble for six seasons. He was a principal dancer and also served as Assistant Rehearsal Director for the company. He founded Davis Davis in 2007, and the company is currently in its 18th season as Denver’s premiere professional Contemporary Jazz company. He appeared in a national commercial for the Starz cable network for their Halloween promo. Mr. Davis’s teaching experience includes the Cleo Parker‑Robinson Dance School, Academy of Colorado Ballet, Academy of Classical Ballet, Manual High School, Smoky Hill High School, Hannah Kahn’s Open Studio, Denver Dance Center, Danza Dance Academy, Presenting Denver, Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, and many other dance schools in Denver. Internationally, he has taught at the Professional Dance Studio in Novi Sad, Serbia, and has been an international teacher and judge at the Novi Sad Dance Festival. He has also choreographed for the Wolf Theatre Academy, Denver Children’s Theatre, Town Hall Arts Center, Opera Colorado, and Denver School of the Arts Theatre Department (directing and choreographing Chicago and choreographing A Chorus Line). Mr. Davis directed and choreographed Blues in the Night at the Aurora Fox Arts Center and was honored with an OnStage Colorado Award (OSCA) for Theatrical Excellence for that production.

Education/Co-Director

CHLOÉ-GRANT ABEL (Chloé), a native of Kansas City, honed her dance knowledge through twelve years of intensive training at the Kansas City Ballet School under full scholarship. Her journey continued with studies at the Ailey School in New York City as a Fellowship recipient. She later graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance (Ballet/Modern emphasis) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. Chloé’s professional career includes performances with Quixotic Performance Fusion, Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey, Owen/Cox Dance Group, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, an apprentice with the Kansas City Ballet and 12 years as an Ensemble member with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble (CPRDE), as well as the Ensemble Rehearsal Director/Company Manager from 2017-2023. During her 12-year tenure with CPRDE, Ms. Abel graced the stage in lead roles by Garfield Lemonius, Donald McKayle, and Cleo Parker Robinson, to name a few, as well as various works by acclaimed choreographers, including Rennie Harris, Eleo Pomare, Gary Abbott, Millicent Johnnie, Robert Moses, Milton Myers, and Christopher Huggins. After completing 12-years with CPRDE, Ms. Abel performed in the regional premiere of “Raisin” at Town Hall Arts and in Opera Colorado’s production of “Samson and Delilah.” Ms. Abel’s teaching career spans over 15 years. She has taught for numerous schools, including the Kansas City Ballet School, American Midwest Ballet as well as an Arts in Education teaching Artist for Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. Chloé is currently the co-Director of Dance at the Denver School of the Arts.
